I have been working in the Counseling field since 1996. I have worked in a variety of schools, community mental health centers, and private practice groups, working with children, youth, and families. The leadership of St. Charles created the first school counselor position in 2017. I have worked as the first school counselor and have enjoyed getting to know the staff and students as well as building the school counseling program. I am proud to say that our program is modeled after best practices of the American School Counselor Association. In addition, our program uses the Second Step program, one of the most well-regarded curriculums for social-emotional learning.
My family and I have lived in Illinois, Connecticut, and Wisconsin. I grew up in Waukesha County and am a Catholic Memorial High School alum. We returned to Wisconsin in 2003 and have been here ever since! My husband and I have two teenage children: a daughter in college and a son in high school. We love to travel and explore new places!
I most enjoy the range of ages that I get to work with at St. Charles. I enjoy teaching the fundamentals of social-emotional skills to preschoolers, and at the other end of the continuum, helping middle schoolers navigate the complexity of social dynamics at their age and how to make healthy choices.
